BC Hydro Rates for Industrial Customers

<p>Sometimes, we hear concern from people about the rates KGHM Ajax will pay for electricity if our proposed Ajax Copper-Gold project is approved.</p> <p>Our feasibility study estimates our hydro rate to be US 3.5 cents (CDN 3.8 cents at a long-term exchange rate of 0.92 )per kilowatt hour. The rate for hydro paid by everyone in the province, from industry to small business to the individual home-owner is governed by the BC Utilities Commission.</p> <p>While it is true that we will pay less than home-owners pay, the rate we will be charged is the same rate BC Hydro will charge any other industrial development of the same size.
